Undergraduate Agricultural Entrance Exams

Agricultural education is the teaching of agriculture, natural resources, and land management. The courses taught under the umbrella of agricultural education are essential for students in many ways. There are lots of courses prevailing in agriculture. To avail the admission in these courses, the candidates must have to qualify the agricultural entrance exams.

Agriculture is the source of national income for most of the developing countries and it is the time-honoured industry. A list of the few common and popular entrance exams is listed below.

ICAR UG Entrance Exam

Indian Council of Agriculture Research conducts (ICAR) conducts All India Entrance Examination Undergraduate exam (AIEEA) for the students who want to take admission in UG agriculture, forestry, horticulture, community science, food nutrition and dietetics, dairy technology etc. To pursue one of these courses, the candidates must match the following given eligibility criteria.

Who can apply?

  • The candidates must be 16 years of age and must belong to India
  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 of CBSE curriculum or any other exam from any recognised Indian Board / university in English medium.
  • The candidates must have passed 12th class with minium 50% marks (General category) and SC / ST / PC with a minimum of 40% marks.

AGRICET

Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) conducts Agriculture Common Entrance Test (AGRICET) for the students who wants to pursue 4 year B.Sc. To pursue this course, the candidates must have the following given criteria:

Who can apply?

  • The candidates must have done 2 year diploma degree in Agriculture, Seed Technology from ANGRAU . PJTSAU.
  • The candidates applying for this course must have completed 17 years of age. The upper age limit is 22 for general category, 25 years for SC / ST category and 27 years for PH candidates.

CCS HAU Entrance Exam

Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University conducts CCS HAU exam for the students who want to get a degree in the field of Agriculture.

Who can apply?

  • To pursue this course, the candidates must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board
  • The candidates must have atleast secured 50% marks in 12th class

CG PAT

CG PAT is the state – level agriculture entrance exam conducted by CG professional examination board. To apply for this course, the candidates must match the following given eligibility criteria.

Who can apply?

  • The candidates must not be above 30 years of age
  • The candidates must have passed class 12th from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Physics, Chemistry and LIfe Sciences / Agricultural Science and Agriculture Mathematics / Crop Production and Horticulture as compulsory subjects.

OUAT

Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneshwar conducts university level entrance exam for the students who want to pursue undergraduate courses in agriculture, forestry, horticulture, agricultural engineering etc. For pursuing these courses, the candidates must have the following given criteria.

Who can apply?

  • The candidates must have passed 10+2 with PCB / PCM
  • The candidates must have passed 12th class with minimum 50% marks in aggregate

Postgraduate Agricultural Entrance Exams

Agriculture is now becoming one of the best career options for the students. Agricultural postgraduate courses offer masters in the agriculture courses which opens up the wide career opportunities for the candidates. Various agricultural universities and colleges offer PG agricultural courses. To avail the admission in the agricultural universities, the candidates must have to appear and qualify the entrance exam. These entrance exams are organized at the state and university level to select the students for admission.

ICAR AIEEA PG

Indian Council of Agriculture Research also conducts (ICAR) conducts All India Entrance Examination Postgraduate exam. To apply for ICAR AIEEA post graduate courses, the candidates must have following given eligibility requirements.

Who can apply?

  • The candidates must not be more than 19 years of age.
  • The candidates should done four/six (10+6 B.Sc. Ag.)/five years’ (B.V.Sc. & AH) degree programme
  • The candidates must have passed at least 60% marks if they belong to General category and 50% if belong to SC / ST / PwD categories.
  • For taking admission in M.V.Sc, candidates must have done B.V.Sc. & A.H with internship before taking admission.

IGKV CET

Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidhyalaya (IGKV) conducts Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidhyalaya Common Entrance Test for admission into PG courses. The candidates must have matched the following eligibility conditions to appear for IGKV CET.

Who can apply?

  • The candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university under 10+2+4 system.
  • The candidates must have passed the above-mentioned criteria with a minimum of 60%.
